The Bass Ensemble is designed to teach the fundamentals of chamber music performance, sharpen listening skills and broaden knowledge of bass, tenor and treble clef reading.
A variety of literature styles will be explored, including classical, jazz and rock. Advanced students will focus on expanding upper register dexterity and expressive performing within a small group. Beginning and intermediate level students concentrate on expanding fingerboard/note placement knowledge, tenor and treble clef reading and thumb position. Intonation, rhythmic accuracy and bowing technique will also be addressed. More than one session may be held during the year.

The Intermediate Harp Ensemble will focus on technical skills, listening and following a conductor. The selected music will be at a level so that students can concentrate efforts on developing ensemble skills.
The Advanced Harp Ensemble will perform advanced repertoire of various styles. Rehearsals will focus on following a conductor, rhythmic accuracy, listening, dynamics, and the interaction of musicians in an ensemble. The ensemble will perform a minimum of once per semester. An informal audition is required before a student may enroll.

Since 2006, Celtic Ensembles at the CRSS have expanded to include three courses for intermediate and advanced students. Students in all classes learn to play/sing by ear, improvise and ornament tunes in the Celtic folk style.
Vocal students learn classical and folk methods of singing, in English and in Gaelic. Students who play multiple instruments or sing and play are welcome to participate in more than one class.
Ceolas Ensemble performs regularly at concerts and special events both locally and regionally. Advanced students only, audition required.*

Ages: 12 years old and up
Ceolas Singers collaborates with Ceolas Ensemble and focuses on both solo and ensemble performance. Advanced students only, audition required.*
Schedule: Thursdays, 8-8:45 p.m.
Ages: 12 years old and up
Celtic Ensemble members will learn and practice the basics of Celtic music such as modes, basic improvisation and bowing techniques. Students should have at least one year of playing experience. No audition required.*
